Gator Softball Tops Purples

By Kolby Burtnett, Reporter

On Monday, March 30, the Lady Gators downed Greenwood’s biggest rival, the Bowling Green Purples, 10-3. “I thought they would’ve been a little bit more excited for their first home game and thought we would’ve scored a lot more, but we played a great game,” Coach Albert said.

The Lady Gators started hot, scoring five runs in the first inning. The main pitcher was Madi Thomas, who pitched 5 innings with 3 strikeouts. Makayla Stewart was 2-4 with four RBIs and Abbi Woodcock was 3-4 with three RBIs.

The Gators upped their record to 9-2, and play at Warren East on March 31. Earlier in the week, the Lady Gators blanked Grayson County, 13-0.
