Freshman: Megan Healy

Megan Healy is in her freshman year here at Greenwood High School. Megan participates in the marching band as part of the color guard, and she also plays in concert band as a saxophone. This school year was her third year in the color guard here. This year she tried out her hand at rifle. Megan enjoys spinning rifle with her two wonderful instructors, Justin Henley and Christine Burkeen. She enjoys traveling all over with the band and competing their best.

Sophomore: Anna Quinn Scifres

Anna Quinn Scifres is a sophomore here at Greenwood. You might know her as being Anna, but last year she dropped the name and everyone now calls her Quinn. This is her first year in the color guard for the Greenwood Marching Band, and she will be apart of the winter guard program this year too. Quinn has been a part of the academic team for the past two years. She is the only sophomore girl on the varsity quick recall team. She likes to compete in the arts and humanities category.

Along with marching band and academic team, Quinn has played four seasons on a rec volleyball team. Quinn’s favorite subject to study is genetics, and other types of science. When asked what  kind of career she would like to pursue when graduates from college she responded with “I would like become a marine biologist or a forensic criminologist. I find what they do very interesting.” This school year she has joined the drama club. Her two favorite things to do are write poetry and stories, and paint.

Junior: Kayla Hill

Kayla Hill is in her junior year here at Greenwood. She is in the school’s marching band as a mellophone. She has been a part of the Greenwood High School Marching band since her freshman year. She plays softball, and attends conditioning for Greenwood in hopes to be a part of the school’s team. Kayla is a part of the wind ensemble as a French Horn. She is only a part of two different clubs, art club and action club. When asked what her favorite instrument to play is, she responds, “I really enjoy marching with the mellophone.”

Senior: Darren Brown

Darren is in his last year here at Greenwood as a senior. In Darren’s free time he enjoys practicing his guitar. If he could have any job he wanted, he would really like to become a U.S. Marine. Darren likes coming to Greenwood, but if he could change one thing here he would like to be able to have his phone out in between classes. His most favorite class this year is algebra two with his favorite teacher, Mrs. Bush. A surprising fact I bet you didn’t know about Darren is that he has been to two different countries, including Scotland, and on a plane 10 times. When asked what makes him happy Darren answers with “Taylor Scott makes me really happy, and along with all of my other friends I have too.”
