NFL Week 9

NFL Week 9

TNF: Browns(2-6) at Bengals (7-0)

Winner: Bengals. The Bengals record says enough about how their season has been. They have beat many good teams, so their schedule hasn’t been easy. Andy Dalton is finally starting to look like the guy the Bengals wanted when they drafted him. They handle the Browns at home. Score:27-20

Noon Games

Packers (6-1) at Panthers (7-0)

Winner: Panthers. If the Packers were at home, they would be the obvious pick to win. But at home, the Panthers will win. If we learned anything on Sunday Night, it’s that Aaron Rodgers can be stopped. Josh Norman and co have already shut down many quarterbacks. Going against another strong defense, the Packers drop their second straight. Score:23-21

Redskins (3-4) at Patriots (7-0)

Winner: Patriots. Tom Brady is playing possibly the best football of his career. It is becoming more and more clear just how good a coach Bill Belichick is. They smash the poor Redskins in Foxborough. Score:45-17

Titans (1-6) at Saints (4-4)

Winner: Saints. Drew Brees is coming off possibly the best game of his career, throwing for over 500 yards and a record tying 7 touchdowns. The Saints have been 3-1 in their last 4 games. The Titans look completely lost after starting off the year with a big win. Score: 27-23

Dolphins (3-4) at Bills (3-4)

Winner: Bills. The best division in football (probably) continues here. The Dolphins are 0-3 in their division, and 3-1 against other teams. This shows just how good this division is. In the first game, the Bills blew the Dolphins out 41-14 in Miami. Since then, the Dolphins have been reborn with new coach Dan Campbell. However, I don’t see them going into Buffalo and winning, as Tyrod Taylor has a big game in his return. Score: 31-24

Rams (4-3) at Vikings (5-2)

Winner: Vikings. Both of these teams have been great this year, and the Vikings are looking like the Packers may have some competition in the AFC North. Todd Gurley vs. Adrian Peterson will be great to watch. The Vikings defensive line will give Todd Gurley a good test as the rookie has looked amazing so far. Vikings somehow are 6-2. Score: 27-17

Jaguars (2-5) at Jets (4-3)

Winner: Jets. It would be impossible to not pick the Jets in their home stadium. The Jaguars look bad again. The Jets defense hasn’t been as good lately, but they get back on track here, ending a two game losing streak. Score: 34-13

Raiders (4-3) at Steelers (4-4)

Winner: Steelers. Big Ben looked very rusty last week, but he gets a chance to rebound against the second worst passing defense in the league. As soon as the Steelers got Big Ben back, they lost Le’veon Bell for the season. Still, Big Ben and Antonio Brown have a big game, despite the Raiders early season success. Score:28-24

Afternoon Games

Giants (4-4) at Buccaneers (3-4)

Winner: Buccaneers. The Giants proved last week their ‘defense’ might as well not be there, getting walloped by Drew Brees, who threw for  over 500 yard and tied an NFL record 7 touchdowns.  The Buccaneers beat the Falcons last week, but are still last in a tough division. Winston has a solid game against a messy defense. Score:38-35

Falcons (6-2) at 49ers (2-6)

Winner: Falcons. While the Falcons have lost 2 of their last 3, there is no doubt they are still a great football team. Devonta Freeman and Julio Jones both go off against a rebuilt 49ers defense, handing Blaine Gabbert a loss in his first game taking over. Score: 38-21

Broncos (7-0) at Colts (3-5)

Winner: Broncos. For whatever reason, I have picked the Broncos to lose the last 3 weeks. (Not including their Bye) So obviously, I have learned better. Their defense is simply one of the best I have ever seen, if not the best. Andrew Luck has a terrible game, especially  and Peyton wins again in his original football home. Score: 24-10

SNF: Eagles (3-4) at Cowboys (2-5)

Winner: Eagles. The NFC east is a complete mess, with no winning record teams. One of the 4 teams is going to get a cheap way into the playoffs, and I think that might as well be the Eagles. Without Tony Romo, the Cowboys have lost 5 straight By the time he comes back, he will have a huge mess to clean up. This game should be close, but the Eagles win on the last drive. Score: 24-23

MNF: Bears (2-5) at Chargers (2-6)

Winner: Chargers. The Chargers suffered a big blow last week as Keenan Allen had a season ending injury. The Bears also lost Matt Forte for an uncertain amount of times. Phillip Rivers still has a nice stock of weapons, and the Chargers make a step toward turning around their season. Score: 27-24

Teams On a Bye:
Cardinals (6-2)

Ravens (2-6)

Lions (1-7)

Texans (3-5)

Chiefs (3-5)

Seahawks (4-4)

My Last Week recap:

Record:8-6

My best pick: I didn’t have any great picks, but I guess it was the Panthers over the Colts.

My worst pick: For whatever reason, I picked the Lions over the Chiefs in London. That of course didn’t work out.
