AP Human Geography (APHUG) is generally the first AP class most people take. It is much different from regular classes in high school, but it can be rewarding in the future for colleges. Because of this, I asked both freshman Ragava Karpakambikaa and Joel Gomez Rufino about how APHUG students feel about the upcoming exam, and how AP classes will affect them in the future.
First, Ragava plans on making a 5 on the exam if he uses the upcoming days efficiently for studying. Whenever he was asked if APHUG was hard in general, Ragava responded, stating, “I don’t think it’s hard if you understand the basics of human travel and intentions.” Then, Ragava was asked what units he thought were the most difficult. He replied, “The hardest unit is the third with cultural diffusions because you have to know the difference with the diffusions like hierarchical, contagious, and more. Then, the easiest would be maps in Unit 1.” AP classes can determine and change your future mostly for colleges. So, whenever Ragava was asked about this, he stated, “AP is most likely going to affect me in the future by showing colleges how I respond to extra work and obstacles in my study life.” Finally, Ragava was asked if he was going to take more AP classes, and he replied back, “Definitely.”
Next, Joel thinks he will make a 2 on the exam because he does not study that much. He believes that APHUG is hard since it is difficult staying focused and taking notes. Then, whenever he was asked about what unit he thinks is the hardest and easiest, he replied, saying, “I think the hardest unit is agriculture because of all the different methods. For the easiest one, I’d probably say it’s Unit 1 which is maps because it’s easy to read and learn from.” Next, Joel was asked how AP is going to affect him in the future, and he stated, “It can give me a better chance of getting in to college.” Lastly, Joel believes he will take more AP classes in the future.
So, what we can conclude from this is that both APHUG students have different scores from the exam in mind. Also, one of them studies for the exam, but the other person does not. However, they have the same idea of taking more AP classes, mostly for college.
