Khloé Kardashian was known as “the fat Kardashian” for the majority of her childhood. After losing her dad at the age of 19, Khloé turned to food as a source of comfort, and naturally she gained weight. In later years she entered an unhealthy relationship with Lamar Odom which contributed to her weight gain.

After Khloé and Lamar split, she was inspired to get in the best shape of her life, and she did nothing short of that. Khloé went through the transformation of a lifetime, and claims to be happier than she has ever been.

After significantly changing the way she lived, Khloé strives to assist people just like her in becoming their best self. Her new show airs weekly on E! with two new people from a variety of backgrounds, who want to alter their lifestyle.

Khloé thoughtfully chooses a specific Hollywood trainer for each of them to help them push them to their limits. She also sets them up with a nutritionist and stylist. The clients train almost every day for 12 weeks and after they’ve completed the program, they shock their friends and family with their transformation. Many critics of the show claim that the show is centered around how you are perceived through other’s eyes; however, the overall idea of the show is to get revenge on life itself.

On the first episode Khloé features Jill Perih, who lost both of her parents within her first two years of high school. After her parents tragic death, Jill began to rely on food to cope with her depression. Once she was accepted to UCLA Jill worked diligently and lost most of the weight, however this was not the end of her weight loss journey. During her first year of college Jill was raped. 70 pounds later Jill found herself unhappy with her lifestyle and her body, and she was desperate to make a change. Revenge Body was the change that she was seeking. Khloé paired Jill with celebrity trainer Simone De La Rue. In the beginning of the 12 week process Jill had doubts about Simone’s style of working out, however contrary to her doubts Jill lost 30 pounds. After the completion of the show, Jill quit her job and is now working as Simone’s assistant.

I applaud Khloé for wanting to share how she changed her own life for the better. She is able to empathize with people struggling just as she did for the majority of her life. Revenge Body documents the transition of your body, mind, and soul in hopes of sparking lifestyle changes in viewers everywhere.
