Madison Duncan Throws Invitational

By Alexa Davis

Greenwood Junior Madison Duncan returns to the field portion of track and field.

“I’m excited to come back, I missed throwing the most,” she says when asked about her feelings toward her return.

Since she is disabled into a wheelchair, Madison is looking to purchase a throwing chair just so she can play. For those who are unfamiliar with track and field, throwing sport is a section in field where you test each athlete’s ability  by seeing how far they can throw a certain object. You can throw a disk or a shot. Madison would like to do both, but will most likely end up throwing a shot. “I stopped playing in eighth grade and always wanted to do it again,” she says about the coming season.

The First meet is March 15th at Greenwood high school. “ I think that it’s pretty cool that they are throwing this event for Madison” says a busy Coach Lowe, when asked about the season. Coach Garrett has been coaching for 30 years and he has coach 50 state champions.
