Softball Pitching in New Season

By Kolby Burtnett, Reporter

The Lady Gators are warming up for their second season of softball with Coach Steve Albert. Last year the Lady Gators finished their record under .500. They were kicked from the district tournament due to their loss in their first game.5192593b48882.image

Coach Albert says that he’s hoping to get back on track to where softball used to be at Greenwood. He is trusting in his two seniors on the team who will also be named captains, Abby Willgruber and Alexis Dean. With 17 returning players on the team, Albert really thinks the team is starting to come together.

Schedule

The lady Gators will be playing their first official game on March the 10th. They will be in Elizabeth Town facing off against DuPont Manual from Louisville KY. Their first rival game is their 3rd game of the season, taking on the South Warren Spartans. The Lady Gators first home game is a little late in the season at the end of the month on the 29th facing off against Greenwood’s biggest rival, the Bowling Green Purples. Make sure to come out and support your Lady Gators during this softball season.
