Netflix has proven itself able to create shows and movies that are likable to a wide variety of people. With Emmy award-winning shows like Orange is the New Black and House of Cards, the success of Netflix has encouraged them to double the number of Netflix originals in 2016, having a total of 47 series and movies ready to premiere at the moment that will be available to stream from all devices that carry the service.

On February 26th, The cast of Full House will be reunited for a new series about the grown-up family, excluding Michelle Tanner (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen). The Olsen twins decided together that they weren’t going to star in the show because they hadn’t acted in so long, leaving the rest of the cast to this continuation of one of the most popular shows of all time. Created by the same producer, Fuller House will follow DJ Tanner and her family back in their old house.

I have not been in front of a camera since I was 17 and I don’t feel comfortable acting

Another highly-anticipated show this year is A Series of Unfortunate Events based on the popular children’s novels by Daniel Handler (better known by his pseudonym Lemony Snicket). Count Olaf, played by Neil Patrick Harris, is the caretaker of three orphaned children after their parents die in a peculiar fire accident. It is expected to come out at the end of 2016. Currently, they  are still in the casting stage but it is hopefully going to live up to the hype.

At the end of 2013, Marvel made a deal with Netflix to produce five original series: four about individual superheroes (Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist) and their personal backstories and a miniseries (The Defenders) that will tie all the characters together. This year, both Daredevil and Jessica Jones will be returning for a second season after their critically-acclaimed success , and Luke Cage will be premiering its first 13-episode season. At the moment, they are still working on how they are going to tie everything together, but based on the previous series, the next three will be just as good.

With all the new Netflix shows coming out, there are also many returning shows that we are looking forward to binge-watching this year. The two most popular Netflix originals, House of Cards and Orange is the New Black are both coming back for a fourth season. In both shows, many new characters will be starring as well as the old characters that we have grown to love. Narcos, a recent historical drama about Pablo Escobar, is also speculated to be back this year for a second season. However, it might be delayed because of a new producer. More returning shows include Longmire (season 5), Marco Polo (Season 2), and Bloodline (Season 2) .
