TNF Recap

By Ian Shimizu, Reporter

The Bills beat the Jets last night on TNF in New York. The Jets fall to 5-4 and the Bills move to 5-4. It was a big game because it was Rex Ryan’s first time against his former team that fired him after 6 years. The Bills got off to a hot start, leading 12-3 going into halftime. They then scored 10 more points in the 2nd half and took a 22-3 lead. The Jets rallied back, but fell short when Ryan Fitzpatrick’s pass was intercepted by Baccari Rambo, who forced 3 turnovers on the night. After Tyrod Taylor took a knee, the scoreboard read 22-17 Bills. Fitzpatrick was ineffective, completing just 15-32 passes with two interceptions. Lesean Mccoy had a great game, going for 159 scrimmage yards. Karlos Williams is just the 2nd player in history to score in his first 6 games, despite missing 2 weeks and being the backup to Mccoy. Not everything went right for Buffalo, as Tyrod Taylor had just 158 yards and 1 touchdown and after his best career game Sammy Watkins was shut down on Revis island for just 3 catches for just 14 yards. They also nearly allowed a Jets comeback. It was a huge win for Rex Ryan and the Bills in New York.
