Greenwood defeats Grayson County

The 7-1 Greenwood Gators defeated Grayson County by 47 points to notch the Gators’ fifth victory in a row.

The Gators had 501 yards, 392 of them on the ground, compared to Grayson’s 198 yards. Sophomore quarterback Jackson Adams had one rushing touchdown along with his 152 rushing yards.

Adams also threw for two scores, one to sophomore Blake Barker and another to Jake Sanson; he finished with 109 yards through the air. Senior running back Noah Pillow had 129 rushing yards with two touchdowns. Freshman running back Triston Wilson had 93 rushing yards.

The Gators defense was also very powerful, forcing five turnovers, with four fumble recoveries. Junior Malcolm Johnson forced three turnovers and recovered two fumbles. He had eight tackles along with an interception.

Greenwood hopes to make their record 8-1 as they play Bowling Green this Friday. The Senior Night ceremonies begin at 5:30, the game starts at 7:00.
