The Importance of Physical Education

Physical Education, or P.E. for short,is an important class at school that helps with health, team sportsmanship, and in many cases students behaviors. P.E. helps many people in different ways, in primary schools, middle, and in high school. Oftentimes  it’s used as a stress reliever.For example, running, yoga, and even walking around helps you forget about any bad situation you might be in and helps you feel calm. P.E. might be a class that you have to take in high school, but it is also a great and fun way to make new friends while having fun.                                                                                                                                                                                

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             There are many reasons why P.E. is an important class, but one is because it’s good for your health. In elementary school, P.E. class would do all sorts of fun games like dodgeball, volleyball and even softball. All these sports consist of cardio which helps strengthen your heart. In highschool most of the student body is involved in a sport, so playing the sports they are used to playing in P.E. usually makes them better.  According to betterhealth.vic.gov, ¨Try to find the time for some regular, vigorous exercise for extra health and fitness benefits.¨ Having some of the other students that aren’t involved in  a sport in the class gets them used to doing  at least 30 minutes of exercise, which is good for your body .                                                                                                                                                           

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     P.E. is not only a class that helps with health, it  also helps students with behavior and team sportsmanship. In gym, students usually have different units, but each unit is based on teaming up with the class to play some fun games.  P.E. also helps some kids with their confidence, In P.E., anxiety can go both ways. It can go away when a student is doing some type of physical activity like some yoga and it can come when  people are picking teams. Some students stress about when the students get picked last. There are some hardships that come with P.E., but there are some positive sides too.
