Sunday night, March 8, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced that four cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Kentucky.  The new cases have come from Harrison, Fayette, and Jefferson counties. The infected individuals are in isolation and no more details have been released.

Beshear assured the people of Kentucky that the state is ready to treat for the virus and that epidemiologists are hard at work.

“We have been preparing every minute that we have had to make sure that  we can respond and respond appropriately,” Beshear said. “So far there have been 21 tests and 17 have been negative.”  Beshear has reminded everyone to practice good hygiene and stay home if they are sick.

Fayette County Public Schools have also been monitoring the coronavirus and are studying how the virus could impact schools around the state.
