While Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt, and Lincoln have a special place at Mt. Rushmore, President’s Day celebrates all of our nation’s commanders in chief.

Annually, we acknowledge the third Monday of February as President’s Day. The federal holiday is also recognized as George Washington’s birthday. Though Washington alone doesn’t represent President’s Day, the day allows Americans to appreciate all former presidents throughout history.

President’s Day bwas established as a federal holiday in 1885 on Feb. 22. It wasn’t until Jan, 1, 1971, that the holiday was moved to take place every third Monday of February. Since then, the USA continues to officially schedule the honorable holiday like so. As for next year in 2021, Feb. 15 will be the next President’s Day for America once again.
