Canada Approves Recreational Marijuana

By Trudy Connors, Reporter

Canadians celebrated last week as marijuana was announced as a legal substance for their country. Adults can carry and share up to 30 grams in public. They will also be allowed to have up to four plants in their house.

Canada is only the second country in the world, after Uruguay, to legalize marijuana. Canada has gay rights, feminism, abortion rights, and now they can smoke pot without worrying about the police arresting them.

Pre-rolled joints, fresh or dried marijuana flowers, and cannabis oil are all permitted under the law. Cannabis edibles won’t be legal for another year.
