Greenwood Volleyball Wins Big

On Thursday, September 6 the volleyball team battled against their long-time rivals, South Warren, and earned a well deserved 3-0 win on South Warren’s home court.

Emmie Bender, senior, led the game with 17 kills and Katie Howard, sophomore, followed shortly behind with 14 kills.

The varsity team was able to push ahead in the second set and finish the match with a 25-16 win, resulting in their District 14 record being 4-0.

Freshman’s final score was 25-21.

JV’s final score was 25-16.

Greenwood Volleyball also competed in the Effingham Classic Tournament on September 7-September 8 in Illinois. Varsity won the silver division and had a record of 4-1 after the tournament.

Volleyball plays again on Tuesday, September 11 against Warren Central at Greenwood. The freshman game begins at 5:00 p.m. followed by JV and then Varsity.
