With Greenwood’s annual homecoming game approaching on September 7, the representatives for homecoming queen were recently announced.

Senior representatives are Rija Arshad, Lilly Minnich, Mia Odil, Claudia Witcher, and Tory Willis.

Junior representatives include Katie Flynn, Harper Popplewell, Lily Simpson, and Autumn Wiles.

Sophomore representatives are Abby Murphy, Allison Bush, and Leah Witcher.

Finally, Savanna Brooks, Maria Crowe, and Camryn Hightower make up the representatives for the freshman class.

“I was shocked. I didn’t think it was really gonna be me, but it was.” Brooks told me, “I was happy.”

Hightower had a similar answer telling me, “I didn’t think that I would be one of the three representatives, but I’m excited. It doesn’t really matter whether I win or not, it will just be fun to be a part of it.”

All three girls have picked who is escorting them and are looking forward to the opportunity to represent their class.

“Congratulations to them for getting on the ballot and good luck,” Crowe said when asked about the other nominees.

Make sure to come out and support the Greenwood football team as it takes on Franklin-Simpson and all representatives on Friday, September 7, at The Swamp.
