Mammoth Cave to Become More Accessible

By Carly Miller

Wednesday, April 25, Mammoth Cave will dedicate a new trail that has been modified to be more accessible for people with disabilities.  The Echo River Springs trail has been converted from a dirt trail to an eight-foot wide concrete path. Other improvements to the parks accessibility have been made to the parking lots and bathrooms, along with four new exhibits for the visually impaired.

Mammoth Cave also offers an accessible cave tour.  The tour does not include any stairs, and lasts two hours going a distance of half a mile.  The park also offers American Sign Language interpreters free of charge, and braille transcripts if requested.
