Local Schools Participate in Walk-Out

By Anna Hewitt

Yesterday, March 14, schools in Bowling Green took the opportunity to walk out in protest of gun violence. At 10:00 a.m., students began filing out of classrooms and headed to the front flagpole area at Bowling Green High School. They held up signs saying “Semi-automatic rifles ARE NOT for protection.”

President of the Young Democrats Club at BGHS led the protest. Here at Greenwood, fewer students participated. By 10:17 a.m., all students were back in class. The 17-minute walk-out symbolized the 17 students that passed away in the Florida Shooting.
