Kylie Jenner, 20, gave birth to her first child on February 1, 2018. She welcomed a baby girl with her current boyfriend and father of the child, Travis Scott, 25. She revealed the baby’s name through an Instagram post, as well as an explanation regarding the secrecy of her pregnancy.

Before Kylie’s big announcement, there were multiple debates concerning the pregnancy. Fans of the young celebrity noticed how inactive she was through social media, and with rumors hitting the Internet, this added on to their belief that she was pregnant. However, pictures taken by paparazzi, with no baby bump to be seen, caused great controversy about whether Kylie was pregnant or not.

One major rumor that had fans going wild was if Kylie was possibly a surrogate for her older sister, Kim Kardashian. Due to health complications Kim faced while she was pregnant with her other two children, she was unable to undergo another pregnancy. Therefore, her new baby, Chicago West, was born through a “gestational carrier.” The name of the carrier was kept secret from the media, but that didn’t stop the assumptions. The fact that Kim Kardashian announced her new baby (via Twitter) on January 19, 2018, days after Kylie had supposedly gone into labor, seemed odd to some on social media.

Regardless of the controversy and the rumors, it had all been settled when Kylie made a post on her Instagram account explaining why she hid her pregnancy from the world, followed by a post of her baby girl’s name, Stormi Webster.

To settle the surrogate rumor, Kim spoke out on her website, briefly explaining the health complications and risks her and her baby would have faced if she would have undergone another pregnancy.  She addressed the decision she and her husband, Kanye West, made together for them to have a gestational carrier to carry their child, and answered any questions the media had.

The star stated, “Finding a gestational carrier was such an interesting experience. You can either choose someone that you know or you can go through an agency, like Kanye and I did. Although I never would have expected to go through something like this, the agency was so helpful and made me feel at ease about the whole process.”

She continued, “Kanye and I were so blessed to have found the most amazing gestational carrier. We have a great relationship with her and trusted her completely throughout the entire process.”

In the end, the Kardashian/Jenner family is ecstatic to welcome two new additions to their big clan. Finally all assumptions have been settled, and we as viewers now have the opportunity to watch Chicago and Stormi grow together, as well as to watch how Kylie will handle her new role as a mother.
