Baseball Working Overtime on Break

On Friday, April 8, the boys team started their spring break by hosting Portland County (TN) at home. Greenwood started off strong in the first inning with seven runs, then added four more in the sixth inning.

Alex Locke led the team in batting, hitting .750 for the game. Tanner South stole two bases and Ryan Wheeler stole one. The final score of the game was 12-2, adding a win to Greenwood’s record.

On Friday the 15th, the team traveled to Paducah, Kentucky, to play two  non-conference games. Their first game was against Sikeston, who was tough competition. The Gators scored no runs and only allowed them to score two. Tanner South had the highest batting average at .333.

The next game in Paducah was against Marshall County on the 16th. Jordan Lindsey had a perfect day at the plate, while Tanner Maple, Tanner South and Adam Schneller had one stolen base each.
