What You Need For That Everyday Smile

By Breanna Price, Reporter

Do you happen to struggle to even get out of bed every day? Do you catch yourself asking why you’re here? Or do you ever catch yourself hating yourself, or trying to be someone else? Well you shouldn’t because you are all perfect in your own way, so here are a few pieces of advice for all you beautiful or (if you are a dude) handsome people.

  1. Surround yourself with the people who seem to love and care about you. Don’t exclude yourself from everything: it just makes everything harder on you. When i’m down I try to avoid everyone, and it seriously makes everything harder on me, it basically just makes everything worse but when i got around all of my friends. I tend to get happier and it was easier for me.
  2. Avoid the things that make you worry a lot, that can cause depression and even make it worse. Okay guys this is not saying avoid school so don’t think about it. When i’m down in the dumps i avoid the things that are not important like drama and it makes it a little easy on me, and helps ALOT.
  3. Talk to someone you feel comfortable with, they can help you. For me it’s my best friend Andrew talking to him about my feelings and what is wrong always helps me get that smile I need.
  4. Do something you love, like play piano, write poetry or stories, lift weights, or just work out. Do anything you can to get everything off your mind. I can’t promise you that this will work for you, but it sure does for me.

Now I am not a professional, so I am not promising that these do work, but they work on a lot of people I know so I really have faith in them that they will work for you. Just remember that you’re not alone. It’s okay that you have depression and you can get through it, you just got to have a little bit of faith, and try to be happy again.
