Mr. Hazard Named Teacher of the Month
Mr. Hazard named February Teacher of the Month
March 7, 2016
Greenwood’s Teacher of the Month for February is Mr. Hazard!
In addition to teaching our special education students, he also coaches our Greenwood Gators football team and teaches an English class. Those are just a few of the amazing things Mr.Hazard does for our school.
He also runs the Action Team, a club based on community service in the Bowling Green Area. They frequently visit the Buddy House, a safe haven for kids with Down Syndrome and often volunteer at the Salvation Army. According to Mr. Hazard, the most rewarding part of his job is “just living the dream. Seeing students grow and being able to point them in the right direction.”
Something many people don’t know about Mr. Hazard is that before teaching here at Greenwood he was a manager at Wal-Mart. He said, “After graduating college with a degree in education, a friend of mine offered a managing job at Wal-Mart, and I never really got around to using my degree until 15 years later.” And now that he’s finally got here, his dream is to one day become a principal.
With all that he does here at Greenwood, it comes as no surprise that Mr. Hazard is our Teacher of the Month. Mr. Hazard’s advice to all the Gators would be, “Just live your dream every day.”
