NFL Week 14
December 8, 2015
TNF: Vikings (8-4) at Cardinals (10-2)
Winner: Cardinals. The Cardinals have a nice lead over the Seahawks, and look like they have already won the NFC West. The Vikings have also been having a good year, but got routed by the Seahawks last week, a team the Cardinals have already beaten. The Cardinals actually have the most yards gained in the league. Score: 31-24
Noon Games
Bills (6-6) at Eagles (5-7)
Winner: Bills. This game could decide who’s out of the playoffs and who’s in. I like the Bills to win this one. Score: 24-14
Seahawks (7-5) at Ravens (4-8)
Winner: Seahawks. In the middle of a hot streak, the next team on the schedule for the Seahawks is the Ravens. I think they coast here with another blowout as Russell Wilson has another big game. Score: 38-20
49ers (4-8) at Browns (2-10)
Winner: 49ers. The Browns are the only team that is mathematically out of the playoffs. The 49ers pull one out. Score: 20-16
Lions (4-8) at Rams (4-8)
Winner: Rams. In a tough stretch of loses, the Rams badly need a win to keep their season alive. Todd Gurley finally breaks out again. Score: 21-20
Titans (3-9) at Jets (7-5)
Winner: Jets. With the Patriots dropping their last 2, the Jets all of a sudden could be back in the AFC East. They obviously need some extreme luck, but wither way, they should be in as a wildcat team, and they win here in New York. Score: 27-13
Steelers (7-5) at Bengals (10-2)
Winner: Steelers. It’s always risky picking the underdog, but the Steelers are on fire. Big Ben and Antonio Brown simply can’t be stopped, and even against a good defense the offense goes off, resulting in a shootout. Score: 36-34
Colts (6-6) at Jaguars (4-8)
Winner: Colts. No Andrew Luck? Doesn’t matter. The Colts have won 3 of their last 4, and beat the Jaguars here. Score: 17-13
Chargers (3-9) at Chiefs (7-5)
Winner: Chiefs. The Chargers have had a wasted season. The Chiefs have won their last 6. Not to hard to pick the winner here. Score: 27-12
Redskins (5-7) at Bears (5-7)
Winner: Bears. In what should be a low scoring game, the Bears keep their slim playoff hopes alive. Score: 13-9
Falcons (6-6) at Panthers (12-0)
Winner: Panthers. I don’t think the Panthers will lose this year, at least not in the regular season. The Falcons have been terrible lately, losing 6 of their last 7. Their funk continues in Carolina. Score: 28-23
Saints (4-8) at Buccaneers (6-6)
Winner: Bucs. The Saints simply have no defense, possibly the worst ever. Jameis Winston has looked improved over the last few games, and goes off here, leading the Bucs to 7-6. Score: 38-24
Afternoon Games:
Raiders (5-7) at Broncos (10-2)
Winner: Broncos. The Raiders look lost after starting off the year hot. Derek Carr struggles against one of the leagues best secondarys in Denver. Score: 20-17
Cowboys (4-8) at Packers (8-4)
Winner: Packers. Last week, I correctly picked the Cowboys to upset the Redskins. However, I don’t think they have a chance of beating the Packers. If it wasn’t for a lucky hail mary heave at the end of the game, the Packers would have lost 5 of their last 6. But with Matt Cassell at quarterback, all Aaron Rodgers has to do is score 20 points. Score: 27-3
SNF: Patriots (10-2) at Texans (6-6)
Winner: Patriots. I like the Texans here, but I can’t see Tom Brady and the Patriots losing their 3rd straight in front of the nation. They pull this one out even without their top 3 receiving options. (Gronk, Dion Lewis, Edelman) Score: 24-19
MNF: Giants (5-7) at Dolphins (5-7)
Winner: Dolphins. Even against the struggling Ravens defense, the Dolphins could put up just 15 points .Still, they won off their defense. I don’t think Ryan Tannehill is a good quaterback. The Dolphins, however, finally put up some points against a rock bottom Giants defense. Score: 28-17
My Last week recap:
Record: 13-3
Best Pick- Cowboys to upset Redskins
Worst pick- Bears, as I picked them to blow out the 49ers, yet they lost
