A lot of people look past the hard work that assistant principals do. Mr. Hazard, the assistant principal at Greenwood High School, plays a huge part in students and teachers play a huge part in students and teachers experiences here at GHS. Many interviewees gave some insight about Mr. Hazard and how much he does for the school, including him.
Mr. Hazard has been an educator for 4-6 years in different schools. His day consists of monitoring classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, as well as offices. He also goes to many meetings which he says is probably the most tiring part of his job besides keeping kids out of trouble. He attends many sports events also. “ I try to be at every school event that I can,” he quoted.
Suan Khai, a freshman at Greenwood, has known Mr. Hazard since the beginning of the school year. Since he has attended GHS, he sees Hazard at least 3 times in the day.
In the morning, at the bus drop off, in the hallways, and in classrooms. Suan takes a humorous hit on how he thinks Mr. Hazard starts his day which in his words he thinks he “wakes up at 4 in the morning so he can take an hour long shower, cuts his toenails, trims his beard, comes to school and is ready to be in a positive attitude.” Suan wishes he could ask him how he contains his beard, as well as why he wanted to become an assistant principal. Suan thinks that a more positive factor about Hazard is that he sees him more often than principal Hatcher.

Ryder has also known Mr. Hazard since the beginning of the year and sees him at least once a day as well as at almost all the sports events and he always has a camera and is taking pictures. Ryder believes the hardest part of his job is dealing with behavioral issues. If Ryder could ask Mr. Hazard one question, it would be “how do you maintain your beard.” Ryder also says that Mr. Hazard is always kind to everyone and is very understanding.
In conclusion, Mr. Hazard is appreciated by many students from what they do know of what he does. But he does a lot more behind the scenes. We are so grateful for you Mr. Hazard.
