About the Club
The Agora club has been part of Greenwoods Club Rush for 4-8 years. Agora Club publishes writing, drawings, or any type of art. Agora is a safe space for people who want to show their art to the public no matter what it is. Unlike some of the clubs at Greenwood High School, you have no fee to join. In Agora you don’t have to share anything aloud, but if you want to you are allowed to! You aren’t forced either way! Most of the time there are no specific topics to write about, so it’s free writing, drawing, or whatever art you do! The only time there are topics is sometimes Halloween or during some holidays. The club hasn’t fully decided when they are going to have their meets all we know for sure is it will be during swamp and sometimes after school!
A Students Prospective
On Friday, August 23rd, Dory Bomba told her thoughts on Agora! The first question that she answered was what is her favorite thing about Agora, Dory shared that her favorite thing is she felt like everyone was her friend like an open space where she could share her writing without feeling judged or uncomfortable! Dory said that she has been going to Agora since her freshman year, she is now a senior. Another question Dory answered was about how would she know if she thought someone should take Agora. She told us that she thinks people who want something like writing, drawings, or anything published Agora is a good place for them then! Agora also has a place for many things to do with art, so everyone always has something!
be to ask her if she likes to share aloud. Guess what! She does, well as long as it’s not too personal. The last question asked was what does she like writing about. During holidays she loves to write according to that, but mainly it depends on how she is feeling.
Dory’s Opinion
Again on Tuesday, August 27th, another interview with Dory but this time with more of Dory’s opinion. Dory has been in Agora since she has been in it since freshman year, so I decided to ask. Dory informed me that she had always wanted to be a writer but never had a place to publish her work. So Agora works out perfectly for her! Since we know we are allowed to share what we write allowed to the class I a perfect question would be to ask her if she likes to share aloud. Guess what! She does, well as long as it’s not too personal. The last question asked was what does she like writing about. During holidays she loves to write according to that, but mainly it depends on how she is feeling.
