At Greenwood, students have the choice of joining some school clubs. The clubs at school benefit students in many ways by allowing you to meet new people, hang out with old friends, or learn new and interesting things. In highschool, there are lots of clubs to choose from, but some that everyone knows are drama club, art club, and photography. Although people don’t really recognize some of the others like FCCLA and the International club. At Greenwood, there’s a club called FCCLA which stands for Family,Career, and Community Leaders of America. It’s a club for students who want to know about real world issues through competitive events. This club also connects to a class at school called Family & Consumer Science. All of the members must take it as the only requirement to be in the club. According to the Greenwood school website FCCLA provides members chances to grow their leadership potential and originate their abilities for life. The students that are in FCCLA are not only competitive in events, in other schools they also present in conferences across the nation.Taylor Blankenship said, ¨FCCLA members do community service by recognizing local concerns and carrying out projects to better the values of life in their communities.”¨. One of their goals is to better understand youth and adults. The FCCLA club isn’t just at Greenwood, many other schools have the same club. The FCCLA is a great club that touches on students getting to know other people and other causes. People should join clubs or try to learn more about this club and how it helps our school.
