Greenwood Participating in Upcoming Veteran’s Day Parade

By Josie Huffman, Reporter

A Veteran’s Day parade will be held on College street this Saturday. It will begin on sixth street and end at the 31W By Pass. The parade will be held on Nov. 10, 2018 where the Greenwood marching band and color guard will be participating in.

The band room will be open to all marching band and color guard members from 8:00 am to 9:30 am.

After this, they are expected to meet at the BG Parks and Rec to rehearse and prepare for the parade at 9:00.

The parade begins at 10:00 am but the Greenwood band won’t be playing until a little after that.

At the latest, the parade will end at 11:00 am and the marching band and color guard will return to Parks and Rec where they need to be picked up by 11:15.

The marching band needs to get their instruments and uniforms from the band room this Friday before leaving school because they are not taking a bus to the parade. They will need to be dropped off and picked up on time to avoid strain on others.

This parade is a great opportunity for the Greenwood band because they will be playing an armed force medley to respect those who have fought for our country. Everyone should make sure to come out on Saturday and respect our veterans along with the Greenwood band!
