Jair Bolsonaro To Become Brazil’s President
October 30, 2018
Jair Bolsonaro is considered a “far-right” right candidate and “Brazil’s Donald Trump.” After a dramatic election process and a country divided, Bolsonaro will be elected as next president. He won 55.1% of the votes, which is a very large margin to win in a presidential election. Fernando Haddad, his rival, won 44.8% of the country’s votes. Brazil is the world’s fourth largest democracy. Many right-wing politicians across the world, including Trump, have spoken positively about Bolsonaro. He is a strong advocate for his campaign slogan, “Brazil before everything, and God above all,” and has an anti-corruption and anti-crime platform.
