Star Wars Actor Finally Receives a Star

By Carly Miller

Mark Hamill, who played the iconic role of Luke Skywalker on Star Wars, finally received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, March 8.

Harrison Ford, George Lucas, R2-D2, and several Stormtroopers were there to support Hamill. Ford made a speech before the unveiling, and jokingly commented, “More people showed up when I got my star.”

The Star Wars Twitter declared this event a part of Jedi Day.  Many people were very excited to see Mark Hamill finally get his star.  However, he was just excited that his name was spelled correctly.

Besides the Star Wars Franchise, Hamill has also appeared in Kingsman: The Secret Service, Justice League, Regular Show, Avatar the Last Airbender, Adventure Time, Midnight Ride, and Dragons: Riders of Berk.  His voice is often used as the Joker, in animated Batman movies.
