Ohma, a 10-year-old Beagle, is in need of special care. She was found on the side of the road by a kind passerby and brought to the BGWC Humane Society in shaky condition. She had been out in the cold for too long, and, more importantly, she had a large ruptured tumor on the back of her neck. Although she has recovered significantly after receiving care at the Humane Society, she is still often fatigued and is sensitive in the area where the tumor was. She needs to go slowly on walks and can’t wear too tight of a leash or be pulled on, and she wears an adorable dog dress to protect her skin and keep her warm. And in addition to the physical damage she suffers, she is also psychologically traumatized, not knowing why she was abandoned or what will happen to her next.

Ohma is a kind, affectionate dog who would never hurt a fly, but she needs to take things slow, so she would be most at home with an elderly owner or at least a house without children. Although owning her would require a lot of attention and care, she would most certainly pay her new owner back in love. She is treated very well at the shelter, but the stress and confusion of not having a home is hard for any dog, especially one who is hurt and needs special care.

Anyone looking for a loyal, patient, and gentle dog should definitely check out Ohma and consider bringing her into their home. She has been sponsored twice and has an adoption fee of only $25, which  is less than the cost to completely fill up the average fuel tank in a car, plus her owner will receive a Lupine collar and leash set so that Ohma can walk safely and comfortably. Please don’t hesitate to adopt, foster, sponsor, or even just check out Ohma at her Petfinder page here.
