Scuba doesn't take life--or himself--too seriously.
Scuba doesn’t take life–or himself–too seriously.

Scuba is a fun-loving dog, with not-so-fun past.

This young Pit Bull/Dalmatian mix had a life-changing experience when he fell off a cliff into a body of water, breaking his leg and suffering other injuries. He then had to tread water for four days until he was finally rescued and brought to the Logan County Humane Society to recover.

The Logan County Humane Society has been in less-than-desirable shape for some time, for the most part closed off to visitors, until it was recently fixed up. Ever since, there has been a big push to find these dogs homes, and the wonderful and loving dogs have just been soaking up the attention, especially Scuba.

Scuba is currently being fostered by Greenwood student DiDi Turley and her family, and is fitting right in. He is an energetic, if mischevious, ball of love (if you couldn’t tell from the picture on the left), and he loves nothing more than to play with his humans. According to DiDi, he was stored in a windowless back room for some time at the Humane Society before its total overhaul, and now he’s just glad to be around people.

However, although the Turley family loves having him in their home, they already have six dogs living with them, and a seventh at a friend’s house, so they know it can’t last forever. Fostering is only temporary, so what Scuba really needs is a permanent family to adopt him, preferably one that can keep up with his energy and give him lots of outdoor time.

If you have any interest in taking home this amazingly sweet and affectionate dog, please contact DiDi through Greenwood High School, or the Logan County Humane Society at 270-726-2186.
