Gracie
Week of 4/13/15

Gracie is a sweetheart on the inside, but her outside is damaged.
This Kelpie mix, a resident at the BGWC Humane Society, suffers from a skin condition that causes parts of her skin, especially on her back legs and tail, to swell and lose hair. She is sensitive in those areas, so she must be handled with some care, but she still enjoys being hugged and petted by people. She is a very calm and very well-behaved dog, and although she is initially suspicious of people, as soon as she begins to build trust with a person, she is sweet and affectionate. She is also very sociable with other animals. Rather than bark upon encountering another dog, she calmly approaches them and greets them.
Her original owner, with whom she had lived her entire life, recently had a stroke and could not take care of her anymore, so she was surrendered to the Humane Society. She and her friend Bella were not used to living anywhere but their home, so they were very shy when they were taken in, although they are starting to open up.
This little angel puts on a tough face and doesn’t let her condition slow her down, but it is still painful for her and what she really needs is her own family to look after her.
Gracie has been sponsored and her adoption fee is only $35! Check out her Petfinder page here to get more details.
