March 6, 2018

Former Western Kentucky University quarterback, Mike White, participated in the NFL Combine.  The Combine is a week-long showcase where college athletes perform a series of physical and mental tests in front of NFL coaches, managers, and scouts.  The event started on February 27 and lasted until March 5. It was held at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Center Township, Indiana.

The tests include: the 40-yard dash, bench press, vertical jump, broad jump, shuttle drill, three-cone drill, position-specific drills, interviews, physical measurements, injury evaluation, drug screening, the Cybex test, and the Wonderlic test.

Mike White started his college career at South Florida University, where he started five games as a freshman.  He then transferred to WKU his sophomore year and had to sit out the season due to NCAA transfer rules. He finally started for the Hilltoppers his junior and senior year.

White stands at 6’5”, and weighs 224 pounds.  He ran the 40-yard dash in 5.09 seconds and had a 27 inch vertical.  His broad jump was 96 inches, his three cone drill was completed in 7.4 seconds, and his shuttle was completed in 4.4 seconds.

In an article by Bleacher Report, White was ranked number 8 in the top-10 prospects.  Another Kentucky athlete, Lamar Jackson, was also on this list.  He was the former quarterback for the Louisville Cardinals.
