Publishing their own books has become a recent trend for YouTubers. Whether it’s a memoir, a fictional novel, or a book just for comedy, these stories have become popular with their fans or anyone interested in the YouTube community. They might not be the best writers of all time, but the stories they have to tell make for an entertaining read. Here are some of the most popular:

 

 Nonfiction:

  1. BingeTyler Oakley

– Through hilarious stories and tips he has learned throughout his life,Tyler Oakley tells his story about how he became involved with YouTube in the first place. His inspirational voice is shown whether it is by making you laugh,  making you think about your own life, and how you can turn it into whatever you want it to be.

       2. A Work in Progress-Connor Franta

This unique memoir shows Connor’s personality through pictures/stories while allowing you an insight into his family and YouTube life. Starting out on a collab channel called O2L with 5 other guys, Connor decides that he is going to make a solo channel almost 3 years later.  His goal for his videos was to keep his viewers entertained and be able to inspire them with his personal experiences, which is exactly what he accomplishes with both YouTube and his inspiring book.
      3. Really Professional Internet Person- Jenn McAllister

Better known as JennxPenn, Jenn McAllister’s book was published in August of 2015. Going from a shy child into someone who has over 2,000,000 subscribers on YouTube, Jenn tells her story about her passion of being in front of the camera ever since she was 8 years old.

Fiction:

      1. John Green

-John Green is one of the most famous Young Adult authors at the moment. His books are mostly all contemporary, including his two most popular books, The Fault in Our Stars and Paper Towns, which have been made into movies. Looking For Alaska is also going to be made into a film as well sometime in 2017. What most people don’t know is that John Green has a shared youtube channel called vlogbrothers, which alternates between him and his brother, Hank. Some of his videos are educational, but most are just to make his viewers laugh.

       2. Girl OnlineZoe Sugg

-Penny is a teenage blogger under the persona of GirlOnline, blogging about her frequent panic attacks, school drama, and her insane life. While more and more people start following her blog, Penny and her family go to New York where she meets a boy named Noah. She falls in love, telling all her story online for everyone to see. Zoe relates to her own novel because she suffers from panic attacks like Penny and is also a frequent blogger.

       3. We Should Hang Out SometimeJosh Sundquist

-When Josh turns 25, he realizes that he has never had a girlfriend. Tracking down the girls who he had tried to date in high school, he recalls all the disastrous dates he went on and asks the girls why they were never interested in him. This embarrassingly true account of Josh’s life allows you to get to know his comedic side.
