Halle&Claudia’s Reviews: The Oscars

The 2017 Oscar’s was a night to remember.  We saw everything from surprised tourist to the great envelope mix-up which named La La Land Best Picture(in actuality the award went to Moonlight).  However, before any of the awards were given, the stars had to walk the red carpet.  There was a wide range of clothing, some of which received our vote for best dressed…the others not so much.  Here is Halle&Claudia’s Reviews: The Oscars.

Janelle Monae is at the top of our best dressed list in this beautiful Elie Saab gown. The juxtaposition between the soft black tool and the hard textile down the center create a cohesive paring. The dress is very intriguing, however captures Monae’s elegance perfectly.

Naomie Harris surprises us with an all white Calvin Klein gown. I love the simplicity of the gown, however it still has a wow factor. The high in the front low in the back design flatters Harris’s figure, and adds an element of surprise.

Emma Stone wore a stunning Givenchy gown that referenced old hollywood. The intricate beading throughout the gown shows the effort put into Givenchy gowns. The gold tones in the dress compliment her skin as well as her bright red hair. Emma stone landed herself on almost every best dressed list for this oscar season, and rightfully so.

I am very underwhelmed by the lack of class and maturity Kelly Ripa’s dress displays. The silhouette is quite flattering, however the addition of the butterflies makes the dress seem very junior. I think the dress would have been an average dress without the butterflies that landed her on our worst dressed list.

Taraji P. Henson stunned everyone on the red carpet in her navy, off-the-shoulder Alberta Ferretti gown.  She made all the right choices, from shoes to hair to jewelry.  The look was simple yet sophisticated and very flattering for the Hidden Figures actress.  Henson always makes an impression on the carpet, but this time she blew us away.

It seemed that Leslie Mann attempted to recreate one of our favorite Disney princesses on Oscar Sunday.  The Belle look alike just missed the best dressed this year.  While we were fans of the Zac Posen dress, the details ultimately overpowered her small figure.
