Lady Gators defeat Bowling Green 3-0 to continue undefeated streak

The Lady Gators started their season last week with two away games at Warren Central and Warren East, sweeping both teams. They continued their winning streak earlier this week against Bowling Green, also with a sweep.

The Lady Gators proved their dominance against the Purples, never trailing by more than one point in all three sets. Leah Martens appeared to be the game’s MVP with seven kills, four aces and 14 digs.

Coach Jason Reels had this to say about Martens’ play “Anything we need, Leah is always there. I thought she played an outstanding game. She was all over the place, defensively and offensively.”

#18 Alexa Davis led the team with 9 kills and 2 aces. Britt Reels had two aces with seven digs and Rileigh Stivers had 28 assists.

The Lady Gators won the first set 25-16. never trailing in that set. The second set ended with Alexa Davis’ ace making it 25-19. Bowling Green came close in the third set making it 22-21 but the Lady Gators ended with three straight points, finished with a kill by Alexa Davis.

The Lady Gators hope to continue their undefeated streak in District 14 when they take on Warren East next Thursday.
